Church leaders shared on social media this week about the dedication of the Joseph and Emma Smith Home in Kirtland, Ohio, the new Bangkok Thailand Temple and the importance of faith in Jesus Christ,
On Aug. 27, President Dallin H. Oaks, first counselor in the First Presidency, posted about the need to reclaim individuals from the mentality that Jesus Christ “was only a mortal.”
“The covenants provided in the plan of salvation give us access to His redeeming power. As we seek to know Jesus Christ and come to Him in that covenant relationship, He will give us the power and the guidance to make the right choices, for He is the way, the truth and the life,” said President Oaks.
The Primary general presidency posted a video together on Aug. 31, inviting everyone to join them for the next Friend to Friend episode on Saturday, Sept. 2.
On Aug. 28, Elder David A. Bednar of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, posted about his experience dedicating the rebuilt Joseph and Emma Smith Home in historic Kirtland.
Relief Society General President Camille N. Johnson posted on Aug. 30, “We find relief — from disappointment, heartache, and any challenge — as we align our hearts and minds with Jesus Christ.”
Elder Neil L. Andersen of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles posted a video with Elder Youngjoon Kwon and his wife, Sister Yeonshin Lee, on Sept. 1.
Elder Kwon was recently appointed to the South Korean Supreme Court, and Elder Andersen applauded him and his wife for being “true disciples of the Savior and examples to all of our members around the world.”
“The Lord has a great work for each of us to do,” said Elder Andersen. “As we learn to support one another, keep God’s commandments and seek His guidance, we can become who He would have us become.”
Primary General President Susan S. Porter on video Aug. 28 shared a story of a friend who had served her.
“I have been richly blessed by those who have published the peace and love of the Savior as they have served on their beautiful feet,” said President Porter.
In a post on Aug. 30, Elder Gerrit W. Gong of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles shared his gratitude for Latter-day Saints and friends across Southeast Asia during open-house tours of the Bangkok Thailand Temple.
Sister Kristen M. Yee, second counselor in the Relief Society general presidency, shared a Church News video on Aug. 31, where she explained how she felt God’s hand in her life while living in San Francisco as an art student.
Young single adults matter, said Sister Amy A. Wright, first counselor in the Primary general presidency, on Aug. 31.
“You mean everything to [God],” said Sister Tamara W. Runia, first counselor in the Young Women general presidency, on Aug. 29. “And just because you don’t remember your Heavenly Father doesn’t mean He’s forgotten you.”
“What has inspired you from [Christ’s] life and His teachings?” asked Sunday School General President Mark L. Pace in a video Aug. 29.
“When Jesus Christ is at the center of our lives, we become filled with Christ’s light through the companionship of the Holy Spirit,” said Sister Tracy Y. Browning, second counselor in the Primary general presidency, on Aug. 29.
