District: Stakes headquartered in Columbia, Charleston, Florence and Greenville, S.C.; Asheville, Charlotte and Hickory, N.C.; Augusta and Savannah, Ga.; and Kingsport, Tenn.

Pertinent facts: Announced Sept. 11, 1998; open house Sept. 30-Oct. 9, 1999, excluding Oct. 2-3; nearly 20,000 attended; dedicated in six sessions with four on Saturday, Oct. 16, and two on Sunday, Oct. 17, 1999, by President Gordon B. Hinckley with participation of Elders Dallin H. Oaks and M. Russell Ballard of the Quorum of the Twelve and Elder Monte J. Brough of the Seventy.
